AI job application

Build your job application with AI, free

This AI job application tool starts from one upload: add your CV and paste the job ad. You get a tailored CV and a matching cover letter, both built from the facts already in your career.

Tailor an application freeYour first three applications are free, and the first needs no account.

One upload and one job ad produce the complete application.

  • CV and cover letter
  • In about 60 seconds
  • Every application tracked

How an AI job application comes together.

  1. Upload your CV once

Upload it as a PDF, Word file or photo. We read the structure. Dates and figures stay exactly as you wrote them, and so do titles, unless your German CV goes into English, where they are translated.

  2. Paste the job ad

Any text, or a link from a job board. We pull out what the role actually asks for, so you don't read the ad three times hunting for keywords.

  3. Check, adjust, export

The CV and the cover letter arrive together. Margin notes explain every change, you fix anything inline, and you export a PDF.

  4. Keep the overview

Every application gets a status — from saved to offer. By application number ten you still know where you applied and with which version.

Which AI tool for your application? Resume Copilot, ChatGPT and template builders

There are three common ways to put an application together with AI. They differ in where they start and how much is left to you afterwards.

  • Resume Copilot

It builds the whole application from your CV and the ad.

Your CV and cover letter come out of the same run. A validator checks every statement against your original, both are set in an ATS-friendly layout, and each application lands in your overview with a status.

  • Chat assistant such as ChatGPT

It writes from whatever you paste into the chat.

You paste your CV, the ad and instructions, and get drafts back, one for the CV and one for the letter. It's good for ideas and phrasing. The layout, the check against your original and keeping track of applications you organise yourself.

  • Template builder

It fills CV and letter templates with what you type in.

You pick templates and fill in your details field by field, often with AI suggestions for single lines. That gets you a formally clean set quickly, which works as a base for many applications; you adapt it to each ad yourself.

What comes with every application.

  • A German application is a complete set

Employers here expect a cover letter, a CV and attachments. The cover letter and CV are written together from the same job ad, so you never explain yourself twice.

  • Eleven ATS-friendly layouts

One click to switch, and the on-screen preview matches the PDF pixel for pixel. The evening lost to Word tab stops is gone.

  • German ad in, German application out

The output language is detected automatically from your CV and the job ad. A German ad gets a German application, an English one an English application.

  • A cover letter in the right register

Formal, warm or confident: adjust tone and length with a click. The letter answers the advert in front of you.

  • Photo and signature

Upload and crop an application photo, add a handwritten signature — built for the conventions German employers still expect.

  • Everything stays in the EU and Switzerland

The app and AI processing run in the EU, the database in Switzerland (EU adequacy decision), and your data serves exactly one purpose: your own applications.

AI tools for your job application: how the pieces fit together

The AI tailors your CV to the advert; the AI CV builder page explains how. The AI cover letter is written in the same run and answers the advert's requirements with the same evidence.

Before you tailor, check the form: the free CV check shows whether applicant tracking systems read your CV cleanly. If German conventions are new to you, the German CV format guide covers photo, signature and structure, and tailoring your CV to a job ad explains how to aim the content at one role.

The AI hands you a finished draft; the decisions stay with you. Germany's Federal Employment Agency gives the same advice: check AI suggestions, adapt them and add your own experience. That's why every line stays editable in the browser before you export. Changing fields? The career-change CV page has more.

Your facts, sharpened.

Every application is built from the experience you already have. Job titles (translated only when a German CV goes into English), dates and figures stay unchanged, and a validator confirms each version against your original before you see it. Where the role asks for something beyond your CV, we say so plainly and leave the answer to you — the tool's job is to sharpen what's true.

Common questions about AI job applications.

Is it allowed to use AI for a job application in Germany?

Yes. There's no general ban, and on the employer's side applications are often screened by software anyway. If an advert explicitly asks you not to use AI, respect that. What matters is that every statement is true: false claims in a CV can still have consequences after you're hired. That's why a validator checks each application for content that isn't in your original and for changed job titles.

What does a complete German application contain?

The usual set is a cover letter (Anschreiben), a CV (Lebenslauf) and attachments (Anlagen) — references, degrees, certificates. A photo is common but voluntary. Resume Copilot produces the cover letter and CV for each specific ad, photo and signature included; you attach your own references and certificates.

How long does an AI job application take?

The preview appears in about 60 seconds — CV and cover letter together. After that you read and correct it in the browser, which usually takes a few minutes. For the next role you don't start over: your profile stays saved and only the copy gets tailored.

Is it free?

Your first three applications are free, the very first one without an account or a card. After that you buy credits in packs: one-off payment, no subscription, and credits don't expire. You pay only for the applications you actually tailor.

Where is my data processed?

In the EU and Switzerland only. Storage is in Zurich (EU adequacy decision), processing is in the EU, and neither leaves that area. Your documents are used for your own applications and nothing else. You can delete your account and applications at any time from settings; the Privacy Policy has the full detail.

Will a recruiter notice it was written with AI?

It reads like you wrote it yourself — the facts are yours, weighted toward this advert, and the phrasing stays as specific as your career rather than the stock lines a thousand applications share. Still, read it once: anything that doesn't sound like you can be changed with a click.

How is this different from ChatGPT?

ChatGPT writes from whatever you put into the chat and returns the CV and cover letter as separate drafts. Resume Copilot builds both in one run from your CV and the advert, checks every statement against your original, sets everything in an ATS-friendly layout and files the application in your overview.

Does it help with a career change?

Yes. Tailoring matters most when you switch fields, because the AI phrases your experience in the language of the new advert while staying with your facts. Anything the role asks for that your CV doesn't show yet is flagged as an open point.

Does the tool send my application?

No, you send it. You export the CV and cover letter as PDFs and upload them to the employer's portal or attach them to your email. Afterwards you track the status in your overview.

Your next application is 60 seconds away.

One upload, one job ad — the CV and the cover letter are ready before the coffee is. Read the result line by line: what goes out is exactly what you've seen and approved.
